The Brief

Cybersecurity is a field that routinely alienates the very people who need it most. The jargon is confusing, the solutions are expensive, and the messaging — all red alerts and doomsday statistics — tends to overwhelm rather than empower. The brief for elodie was to build something from scratch that felt nothing like the industry it operated in: a cybersecurity education platform for small businesses, content creators, and non-profits that was accessible, affordable, and human in tone.

The Approach

  • Brand & positioning
The name and identity needed to do a lot of heavy lifting — immediately signalling that this wasn't a corporate security firm. "elodie" is intentionally soft and personal, directly at odds with the hard-edged aesthetic of the industry. The positioning line — "Building Resilience In" — reframes cybersecurity as something you build proactively rather than bolt on in a panic. The visual direction followed: clean, uncluttered, photography-led, with a tone of voice that is plain-spoken and warm rather than technical and alarming.

  • Audience architecture
One of the core design decisions was building three distinct audience pathways from the outset — small businesses, content creators, and non-profits — rather than treating them as a single undifferentiated group. Each gets their own entry point, their own free resource, and their own product ladder, which required careful navigation and information architecture so the site doesn't feel fragmented despite serving multiple audiences.

  • Blog & content strategy
A substantial blog was built out to serve both SEO and trust-building purposes, covering topics from ransomware to social engineering to platform security for creators. The content strategy was designed to be genuinely useful rather than promotional — answering the questions the audience is actually searching for, in language they can understand.

The Result

A complete digital business — brand through to product — built from zero. elodie is set to launch and operate as a multi-audience education platform with a structured product offering across three customer segments, a growing blog archive, and a content tone that genuinely stands apart from anything else in the cybersecurity space.
